Amberley State Community College – Australia
JCP were engaged by the Department of Education Training (DET) to undertake the design and documentation of the relocation of Amberley State School from its existing site within the expanding Amberley Air Force Base to a new location in the nearby suburb of Yamanto – The project originally intended to be delivered as a D&C was subsequently amended late in the program to deliver a Traditional Procurement methodology. The school consists of 13 buildings embracing the centrally located school oval enabling toe formation of a pedestrian spine connecting each building via a covered link. The creation of this internal ‘school street’ linking each building provided increased connectivity for staff and students. Through this strategy a strong connection between students of differing age groups is achieved allowing a more holistic campus masterplan. The school included General Learning Areas, Library, Administration, Special Education, Outside Hours School Care, C&K, Music and Science.
